Have been happily using new version of ipod 15g.
It was painful to part with the cash but I'd never regret it. :)

MPIO FL100 looks pretty decent though

Have a minidisc and loved it for the battery life, but I just can't bear sitting around uploading songs at 1x speed. NetMD has issue, otherwise it'd be a good choice.

What issue does NetMD have?

Ditto.

I love my MD.

I have 3 of them in fact. Dropped over £1k in to them in total over the past 5 years. R30, R50, E900. 80hrs battery life:D Love the remote.

netmd issues:
can't upload recorded songs (ie, from live concert).
can't delete tracks downloaded via netMD (copy protection BS).
software sucks balls IMO. no where as intuitive as iTunes. Real one works a little better, but... it's real. and yes, i know of the nero/simpleburner method as well.... i'm lazy, and i don't feel it should be necessary for me to do that w/ a $350 piece of hardware (the high end MD's are the only good looking ones)

my main gripe is the software. It's also a little clunky. otherwise, i'm all for it.. remotes are much nicer, and it's smaller/lighter/thinner.

otherwise, ipod :)

i used ot have the FL100, the thing ate batteries and the interface is kinda crappy. Now I have an iPod and I LOVE IT. If you only need 128 or 256 built in then its ok, but otherwise you need to add in a NIMH charger and a few AAA's, and SD cards. In the end it adds up, I think the new 10GB 3rd gen iPod could have been had for $238 recently. I couldn't wait and I paid $286 and got it the day it came out.
