What are allowable temps for a QX6700?

Nowhere have I seen just what is considered OK operating temps for the Quad cores, mine in particular the QX6700. Yes, cooler is better, but what works? From what I have read 40C is considered very good operating temp for it. Very Good like it's well chilled, which means higher is more the norm. But how high? Can we get some facts on this? Does anyone know what Intel considers it's range?
Thanks

100C is thermal throttle. 100C is considered not so good. I would say <80 is acceptable.

I ran mine for 3 months on a WC setup that was overwhelmed by the furnace named QX6700. Temps were 55 idle, 80-83 with 4 cores 100% loaded. No problems, CPU still runs in my current system.
For QX6700, I would say 70-80 celsius is nothing to be affraid of.

Well.. 80C may be technically OK but I'm a chicken and feel uncomfortable with 70C+. I'd try to keep it under 70C.
