I used to never use antivirus. Then I picked up the win.cih virus that infected every single executable on my hard drive. It was a real pain in the ass.
I use NAV 2002 now and it works extremely well. It downloads updated virus definitions automatically and I have it set up so that it's completely hidden. It's protecting me but I never see any trace of it. Unless it finds a virus of course.
Trend Micro's PC-Cillin. It came free on my motherboard's driver disk, and they have updates for the lifetime of the product. It also takes very little space and is conservative on memory, and seems to work pretty well in detection.
