Aside from the horrible thing that happened to Dr. Melfie (sp?), it was an excellent Sopranos. I was really feeling the need by Dr. Melfie to tell Tony...

It was a great episode, the thing that happened to Dr. J was terrible.
This season is looking good so far.

Didn't you watch last night's episode? There was a conversation b/w Tony and Christopher that the feds taped.

I wish Dr. Melfie would have told Tony so he could have taken care of the employee of the month!

TheManiac: They eventually got the bugged lamp installed in the basement.

Anyone else think that the woman that plays Christopher's wife is hot as hell? Not in a typical way, but wow... something about her.

I think right now, Furio is my favorite one out of the "crew." Gotta love Steven Van Zandt (not sure what his name in the show is) though... his mannerisms are great.

Next weeks episode looks really good!

Im betting Dr Melfi doesnt tell Tony but he finds out another way. (Husband or son?)

The legless blond, the Russian, is she related to Van Zandt? Thought she had the same last name in the credits but not sure. Is she really missing a leg?

I would guess you all know Van Zandt is the guitarist with Springsteens E Street Band but maybe someone out there doesnt.

I didnt know that.
Which character is he? ;)

The producers are great; they make you want Tony to find out, so he can exact revenge.
That says a lot about humanity.
We all want that prick to die a horrible death by a thug.

I have to say, that was one of the worse rape scenes ever depicted in a movie. Maybe it's because we have come to be familiar with the character, and it was more personal than in a 2 hour movie.

I agree SirFshAlot... I think knowing Dr. Melfie so well as a character, then seeing her get raped only added to the feelings for her to tell Tony. I think Gandolfini does an excellent job...

yeah, that was one F'ed up scene.

I didn't like the entire episode as much as you guys tho. (don't get me wrong, I love the series!)

I was bothered by the Tony/Christofah conversation in the basement. I did like the Russian thugstas beating the sh1t outta Tony's sister and how Tony got pissed because he "had to" retaliate. Awesome.

I also like how you saw Tony's concern for the doctor. Maybe I was just pissed at the ending. hehe. 2 hours woulda been better.:)

the best scene last night was when Carmella was just staring at Tony as he talked to her about going to therapy

she's my favorite
she has more balls than most the guys on there

Fish-that was also my favorite scene but for a different reason.

I thought it was cool, the compassion that was on Tony's face. Compassion from a guy who really never needs to show any.

Gandolfino does an amazing acting job in that role.
He presented as a little child, with repressd issues, in that scene, and was very convincing.

btw,
I miss that Richie character. You had to love to hate him.

I cracked up watching Shawshank Redemption a few weeks ago, and there was that same guy in the circle of friends with Morgan Freeman. Same exact look as Richie.

This season is turning out really good. I was worried that it could not get any better, man was I wrong. The Dr. Melfie scene was very distrubing. I never really liked the therapy scenes but now I really feel for her as a character.

Furio is my favorite too. He has so many good lines, and you really can't beat the ass-whoopin' he did in the whorehouse last season!

I miss Big Pussy. That was freaky last week when we caught a glimpse of him in Tony's mirror.

The new antagonist is shaping up to be a prick, but it's hard to imagine someone you can dislike as much as Ritchie. I guess we shall see. I saw him in Shawshank too, that was so funny because he has the same accent and all.

I agree that the rape scene was horrible. I was cringing when watching it. But I don't think everyone would have the same emotional response had it not been depicted so violently. Now everyone wants here to tell Tony, so we can all see the thug get whacked.

I'm with Descartes - got to love Furio.
Its going to be interesting to see what happens now that the guy from the New York City crew moved to Jersey....

I always thought Dan Hedaya would be good as one of Tonys crew. A relative of Silvio Dante (the Van Zandt character) maybe.

Does anyone else think that the scene where she was raped was a bit over the top? Maybe disturbing?

That scene was very disturbing. Over the top? Maybe. But don't you just want to tell Tony yourself what happened???

The scene was _very_ disturbing to me, but it was that disturbance that resulted in my strong feelings for Dr. Melfie to tell Tony.

When Dr. Melfie was in her dream, I immediately thought "Tony" when that dog showed up. The anticipation of her telling telling Tony, then not, will keep the audience in suspense until next week. Perfect! I can't wait...
