what amp to get?

Hello. As some of you might know, I have some Kicker KS68 on the front and the Infinity Kappas in the rear. So total I probably need at least 250-300 Watts (RMS) for these this set. I was wondering, what would be a decent amp to get for these? It doesnt have to be top of the line since i have the factory deck. I just want to give these speakers a run for my money. Ideas? Thanks all!

I just got a Blaupunkt THA475 (non PnP model) that does 75W x4 RMS for around $100 on ebay (brand new). I've been very satisfied by my Blaupunkt amp for my sub (haven't installed my speaker one yet), so I'm sure it would work out well for you.

well the kappas are rate at 75W RMS, would an amp that provides less or equal to that damage it at all? or should I just leave some headroom and get an amp with higher RMS watts?

EDIT: where did you get the JL for 100, its expensive!!

That Blaupunkt amp is rated at 75W RMS for each speaker, so it would work well. Honestly, you can go under or over the rating without problem. I mean, you don't want to go to the extremes, of course.

Any affordable, decent choices out there? Like i said, he JL is VERY expensive.

Define affordable. Like I've said (twice), that Blaupunkt amp would work really well and can be had for $100. That's a pretty good deal, and to ME, that's quite affordable.

You'll have to give us a budget before we can really give you your best options.

Yeah, like you said hans, 100 bucks is affordable to me, but I want the best I can have with that budget...opinions?

I thought that was self-explanatory. More bluntly, then - 25W per channel will likely be too loud for regular listening.

that is true. most of the time, I only bump the volume up (very loud) to hear bass. I guess there is almost no reason to get an amp. But won't it produce clearer, better overall sound compared to the deck?

Yes, an amp will almost certainly improve the quality of the sound output if you're using the stock head unit. I'm just saying that you don't need something that produces 300W, although I must say I didn't realize you were probably referring to all channels driven.

Yes, that is what I meant. I just don't want to buy a 600W amp if I will never use most of that power. Something that can give me crisp sound is more than enough.
