What am I supposed to remove from the bottom of the chrome orb?

Very specifically, The ChromeORB comes with CHOMERICS T725 Phase Change Thermal Compound pre-applied. This compound is covered by a thin layer of plastic as a protector. (sometimes two layers of plastic are present). Remove the plastic, it just peels off. The compound is pink in color so its easy to tell when the plastic is removed. Don't remove the compound and replace with thermal grease. The compound is specifically formulated for the high temps of the TBIRD and holds up to the heat much better over time. Most thermal grease dries out AND most people apply too much of it and degrade the HSF performance.
