What am I doing wrong?

Okay, so first my understanding here, which may be where my problem lies, in more ways than one. I was of the belief that if I went off of the recommended hardware guide stickied here, I could get any recommended case and any recommended motherboard and the two would dance happily together through green meadows. I've pretty much always had pre-assembled machines and thought that given the cool stuff out there, the price difference and helpful folks around, I'd try my hand at putting together my own system at last.

For reference, I recently purchased and received:
Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813128345

and

Case + Power Supply
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16811129024

Now, my problem is so fundamental that I'm trying to word it so I don't sound like a total idiot but...

Where do I plug in the power switch cable?

I mean, the case connectors have a very clearly labeled 2-pin connector labeled Power SW and another labeled Reset SW, but I see nothing at all on the motherboard or in the motherboard's manual that corresponds to something so simple. I mean, I assume that I'm not meant to just use the rocker switch, keeping the system in perpetual standby when not in use, but I really don't see anything in the manual or on the board itself where it should either cord should go to.

The only 2-pin connectors on the MB are listed in the manual as:
*SPDIF_O (I infer this to be something dealing with audio)
*CI (Chassis intrusion)
*CLR_CMOS (yeah, guessing that'd be bad to connect to)

However, there's one cord that I'm not used to seeing, and that's a strange SATA2 cable going from the case cords (?!) that easily fits into one of the available slots. Will this take care of things, with the other cords being there for redundancy for older boards, or what am I doing wrong? : /

Thanks for any help you could offer, we'll both be laughing at my expense once someone points out whatever's obvious that I'm missing.

The power switch connector(s) are just below the green IDE connector.

Power Switch & Reset Cables: these two go onto the pins in the top right corner of the THIRD pic on the Newegg link you gave. I have the GA-P35-DS3L and manual specifies the pin IDs. Your mobo's manual should have this somewhere as well.

For the GA-P35-DS3L the power is labeled as "PW+" and "PW-" (2 pins) and the reset is labeled as "RES+" and "RES-". Zooming into the top right corner of this picture I can confirm that your RESET is labeled the same way with "RES+" and "RES-". I cannot make out the power labels though. Hope this helps some.

Edit: After checking my manual (section titled "F_panel (front panel header)") it seems that the pin-out is the same for our boards. If you can confirm this then the pin-out is as follows:

Red: PWR+ (bottom pin) and PWR- (top pin)

Dark green: RES+ (top pin) and RES- (bottom)

*** "top" and "bottom" are referenced from the orientation of the picture linked above.

Thanks all of you! The page reference really helped. I had been flipping through looking at the title of the sections for something with "Power" in it, but didn't think to associate it with the front panel, despite it being, you know, connected to the front panel.

The problem with me RTMing is that rereading it, I get fixated on one idea and start skipping sections that I've already mentally written off as "not relevant" >_>

Thanks again!

You're pro compared to my first build. I won't get into the embarassing details, but in my defense DIY was a little less simple in the 90s.

Anyway, congrats and keep building your own

Those Slot A CPU's took a lot of work to shove into the Slot 1 MBs.

I didn't know I had to put standoffs behind the mobo in my first build.
