I've been under the impression that my prcocessor is very good for ocing.BUT I can't seem to get my speed over 2356MHz without crashing my system.I've been using clock gen.My system is down in my sig.I have an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe and my PSU is a Antec NeoPower 480w...obviously i'm doing something wrong help please!

This statement might come off to you as stupid...but I have no clue what your talking about. Can you explain?I've been looking at the sticky near the top of the forum and still cant figure it out. I just change the values of the HTT in the options

AMD's version of the front side bus is called the Hyper Transport Tunnel. It gets saturated with all the data going everywhere. The default speed is 1000 MHz, or 200 HTT x 5.

You want the HTT always at 1000 or less, no more. So look in the BIOS for LDT (Lightning Data Transport) to x 4, or it may be labeled as 800MHz, instead of x 4.

Okay I'll look into it right away...I dont have to adjust voltage, memory, etc?

depends, you have to test it.

if it's still not stable, next step would be to increase voltage or change memory timings.

generally, Memtest86+ for 10+ loops and SuperPi to test RAM and timings, and Prime95 (or the better GUI frontend SP2004) and StressCPU to test the CPU. Stress CPU seems to weed out an unstable CPU faster. OCCT is good for overall stability, so you can use that first Oh, yea and S&M is good too.

But generally Prime95 / SP2004 at 10 priority Large FFT test for judging the CPU as stable.

Order:

OCCT > SuperPi > MemTest86+ > StressCPU > Prime95/SP2004

And then run 3DMark for like an hour to see if the board locks are working.

I cant find it but this may be some useful information in my BIOS:

CPU Config
CPU Type AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3700+
CPU Speed 2200MHz
Cache RAM 1024K
Hyper Transport Frequency[Set to Auto](other options:1x 2x 3x 4x 5x)
AMD K8 Cool n'Quiet control[disabled

That's it >> Hypertransport Frequency. Change it from auto to 4x.

oh, and change 1T/2T from 2T to 1T. That's a big performance loss.
