What all do I need to do to prepare for my new Duron?

here's what my setup will be:

Win2K
Asus A7V133
Duron 800
MSI Geforce2 GTS
SB Live! Value
Netgear FA310TX 10/100
Philips 4/4/32 CDRW
Mitsumi 40x

Are there any patches I need to apply either before or after I put my new hardware in? I'm not planning on doing a format after the new hardware installation (Win2K seems to handle new hardware just fine), but I don't want to goof anything up either.

Thanks! :D

yep
don't install all your cards at once

the first to install would be the nic, so you can get on the net.
dload via 4in1's install them
dload win2k sp1
dload win2k ata hotfix
dload amd agp patch
dload promise drivers (if you need them)

then put yur sblive in slot 3, and 1 by 1, install each card, and install the drivers for them

good luck

Be careful installing your HSF. I just built a Duron 700 system over the weekend. When it came time to install the HSF, my hands were shaking and I couldn't stop thinking about all the stories I'd read about people who'd crushed their cores. I took a break, came back and slipped that puppy on keeping one hand firmly on the heatsink and used a slot screwdriver to hook the clip. It actually snapped on pretty easily (I have a Coolermaster DP5-6H51). Good luck.
