What affect does case placement have on CPU temp?

I am using a Platinum XP case w/ Antec UV fans for input air and output air. My CPU is a Barton 2500 o/c to 3000 and an SLK-800 heatsink and Panaflo Ultra fan. My processor temps are quite a bit higher then most peoples with my processor and cooling systems (minus the case and fans. But on max, they put out a good amount of air so it probably works well). My current temps are usually around 44 idle and 53 load. Well, back to the question. My case is placed so that the right side of it (the side w/ the mobo on it) is against the wall. There are no fans on this side, and no vents aside from a line at the front side (which I'm pretty sure serves little purpose, since the fan is on the front, and the vents access the front grill, and not the chassis). Would it touching the wall affect my heat dissipation at all?

Nope.

And your temps are hardly bad or high really. Some people think that those would be high, but that is personal more than because of any potential problem. If your PC runs stable, your temps are fine.

Yeah, it's not that there that bad overall. But even with the stock speed, my temps were quite a bit above what other people with an SLK-800 and Panaflo Ultra fan were getting. I'm just wondering if there might be any way to maximize my cooling potential.
