At present using a "D-Link 302g", but it falls over with power drops as low as 2volts on a 240volt home system. This modem also is powered via a "Powerware 5125" UPS.
I tried a "Pulsar PCI" modem which failed to get any sync at all. This was sent back to the distributor for a refund. NO reply from the distributer since 9th Jan 2006 from, "Busybits.com.au", or one of their many company names, eg: "ELX.com.au", & more if one looks. May be a court appearance for the above mentioned shortly.
Got the usual runaround from "D-Link" and from the ISP, "Ozemail.com.au" who supplied the faulty modem. I may add, this is the second modem from the ISP, as the first was faulty also.
Will a "USB' modem help here as it will be powered from the PC, even though I don`t like using "USB" devices, as every device uses 10% of bandwidth allocated??.
