What about the Foxconn 975X7AA and Abit AW8D 975x based boards and Core 2 Duo

What keeps them from being Core 2 compatible? Figured all the 975x boards should work with them.

Abit is coming out with a new 975 board. The AW9D will be Conroe compatible. It is supposed to be closer to $230 though.

the aw8d-max and aw8d still have the vrm9 standard not vrm11 needed for conroe support.

as above it's the VRM design so it's hardware rather than just a BIOS fix.
