I think they included it so now you can fiinally "play it" :p

in a way they addressed one of it's big criticisms here ;)

Good article on 3D'06 at AT

the Author addresses the game on page 2.

edit: and sorry for that totally premature post . . . i just started on one . . . hit 'enter' and oops

ANYway . . . as the AT article points out . . . 3DMark06 has it's uses . . .

and now you can "play it" :p

The game that is included is another addition to 3DMark06, but is so poor that it almost couldn't be called an actual game. It is basically a robot shooter game set in a rocky landscape, which admittedly is well-rendered, where you have to shoot little flying robots that zip around and are frustratingly hard to hit. The movement and controls are incredibly frustrating and the game is so boring and confusing that it doesn't really warrant any playing time at all, and it seems that it was only included as some kind of afterthought or proof of concept.

Yeah, you can with the full version though I never did buy that and don't recall exactly what the "game" is. Isn't it something to do with driving the truck?

Boy did that suck!

you could play somethnig in 3dmark01 se?

yeah, there was something . . . with cows? :p

anyway, the AT article on 3DMark06 IS interesting. ;)

I dont remember the cows exactly. but i know of them.

Yes there was the game where you run away from the things firing at the truck benchmark, then you fire the rockets. and that was about it...
Really satisfyinguntill you realise its as short lived as the actuall benchmark.

I tried it the other day. impossible to win because there is no way to aim the rockets at thiose flying things.

I saw this on a site not to long ago:

"Egg Title : Hidden 3DMark2001 Game: Holy Cow!

How to crack it:
- Download and install 3DMark2001 (Download from www.madonion.com/download).
- Start program click on the "Edit" Button under Project Menu in user interface.

- Change default project name from [My Benchmark] to [Holy Cow!] and click OK.

- Click [Game Demo] button in the UI.

And 'Voila!' instead of benchmarking game tests you're going to be thrown into a landscape that has flying cows hovering above your jeep and you get to duel against this dangerous menace. :) "
