tryin to build a silent or almost computer and i was lookin at this Silent Pipe thing and wondering what that thing would do in a SLi rig. . . air flow and all that. so whoever's got a dual slot card in SLi, not necesarily silent pipe, tell me about it

the best card not requiring external juice from the PS is the 7600GT, am i right? to use a fanless power supply you'll need that PCI card running straight from the motherboard option. the price difference between a 7600T with a fan and the heatsink-only variety is not enough when the vf-700 cost 30 dollars.

I don't follow. You can easily build a very quite computer with fans in it. My Seasonic S12-600W with a 120mm fan is "near silent" the way you want it (it's spinning at less than 1000rpm's right now). Throw that in with a vf-900, a 7900GT, some Yate-Loons and you'll have one quite PC.

I have 3 fans in my case. One intake in the front, one exhaust in the rear, the PSU (exhaust). Everything else is water cooled with a 3x120mm rad with really quite fans on it. (I even have all of them on a fan controller)

Yes, a 120mm fan would be on the rad with my SI-120 if not for my Storm being there now ;)
