friend is correct. assumption is power on means ok. can take many hours before problems become born. this is not the norm. most times refreshed laptop is ok.

uhhh make sure u ask for pictures!!!
"It may have minor imperfections such" <---- i know a LOT of people who got burned by this.

those are probably company lease expired laptops and sometimes.. i say sometimes... you really get what u pay for.

i wouldnt do that. i think this is a better laptop for less money- http://www.amazon.com/HP-EliteBook-8.../dp/B009PHVOG8

its not as fast and has a smaller hard drive, but it has 16gb of ram, and they are built super strong. they are business class laptops, they make them very well.

ive had 2 hp elite books and they are definitely my current favorite if i need to use them for school or business.
(<3 Original IBM T series.. i hate lenovo for taking over thinkpad division)

Not so much favorite if i need it for gaming or goofing off, they run quite hot when pushed.

i think all laptops run hot when pushed. mine isnt anywhere close to as bad as my old (but newer) acer 5742z. that thing had a cooler running processor and the same video chipset, but my elitebook stays 10x cooler.

its all in the design. laptops get moved around, bumped and abused constantly. structure matters, and elitebooks are built like tanks. love it!
