Has anyone ever done a raffle here?
You know, like pick up a really cool knife like this and sell chances for like ten bucks?
We do raffles constantly at work. Would there be any interest here?
Would it be okay?

No, it wouldn't be OK. The only raffles I've ever seen that were approved by the mods were fundraising type things to try and raise money for an AT'er in need - and I think that happened ONCE.

Edit for spelling

I already have that knife ... I collect. Maybe another one and I'd be interested. I have about 270 knives. Every high quality Benchmade, Kershaw, ... SpyderCo, etc.

"Knife" isn't the key, really. It could be anything. Who wouldn't throw 10 bucks at a chance on a monster video card?
That sort of thing.

Not a profit raffle, just a fun raffle. Purchase a 2 or 3 hundred dollar item and take 20 or 30 blocks for 10 bucks. Just enough to cover the cost.
We usually sold a deck of cards worth of chances then drew the winner from another deck. There was a new raffle every few days and you could win any sort of awesome stuff.
There was an excellent poker game in the rod room every night at lunchtime, too. That's where you could lose a hundred bucks pretty quick.
