Could my luck be any worse with AliExpress? Seller with good rep, 2000+ transactions, good (clear) return policy, warrantied for 60 days.

Apparently the conspiracy to prevent me from acquiring a functioning mobo for 10th/11th gen processors is now global. :p

Seller did not ship by advertised date so Aliexpress automatically refunded the day after. The default view order for seller feedback is not by date. So I did not notice seller had received a dozen no-ship feedbacks in the week+ prior to my purchase. And now seller's store is wiped/suspended from Aliexpress.

I've done about 200 purchases on Ebay.

Most have been good.

My worst one was getting an EVGA GTX 560 used. That card lasted 2 months and then it was like someone spilled water on the colors and everything skewed. Swore never to buy a 2nd hand video card after that.

My last big problem was with a refurb instant pot that gave me an error after a month but seller refunded me half the cost. It just doesn't seem to want to pressure cook but works fine for saute'ing so I can still use it!

I had some shitty sandisk memory cards that were counterfeit but I got refunded. Same for some nato watch straps that just fell apart in a day much. Ebay refunded me.

Latest problem I've had is logitech G910 keyboard which I bought 2 years ago.. and it's started to triple click on some keys.. I don't think it was a bad seller.. I think it's logitech making shitty stuff.

And I bought some wireless keyboards like 4 years ago for my dad.. and they died this week.. think 4 years out of a $18 keyboard with bluetooth isn't that bad!

But I've had many more good experiences.

I bought a Nikon FX D600 and that still works after 13 years. Same with many lenses. Also a used Nikon D7200 and that's fine too!

I've bought some good used watches.

Infact I might have sell one soon.. I can't seem to bond with it.. 1745026662987.png

Nevermind my good ebay streak.

Bought a keyboard and the W key does not work!

Got a return queued and will ship out on Monday.

I don't sell anything on ebay and I don't buy much anymore. Usually replacement parts and odds and ends. I just bought a replacement gentlemans multipurpose knife. I had one that was given to me as a high school graduation present 50 years ago by an aunt and I almost lost it recently. It's handy to keep in your pocket but this one had sentimental value also so I opted to get another one to carry. I believe these were made in Japan by Barlow back in the 70s. It's on;y 2-1/2 inches long folded.

The train wreck continues...

Bought a refurb ASUS router. Seller advertised V2 version, shipped V1. Returned.

Bought another from different seller. Just spent an hour with it. The LED for Power ON/OFF, 2.4GHz radio, and 5GHz radio operation are dead. This made me mess around with it for 20 minutes trying to troubleshoot. Even the hard reset procedure uses the Power LED to indicate when to release the reset button, which it didn't do because it dead. Finally got into router GUI, Updated firmware to latest, no change. Check through options/setting to see if there was some control for LED. There was, the function of WPS button can be configured to turn on/off the LEDs instead of WPS function. But it is all or none deal. No change. Seems to work alright otherwise, but I don't like it. Going back.

You know, you can just walk into a microcenter, give them *cash, and they'll give you stuff that in all likelihood will work flawlessly ;^)

*They went cashless during covid, and I haven't been back since. I'm hoping they got rid of that stupid policy.

If you have a pet, give it more hugs and more frequent treats. If you don't have a pet, feed some stray cat or dog and strike up a friendship with it. While it's eating or afterwards, you can tell your woes to it. You never know. Strange things happen in this strange world of ours.

Seller refunded, no need to return. I guess now I'm gonna have to use it then. Ordered another one though. ASUS RT-AX3000 V2 a.k.a. RT-AX58U V2

Need to upgrade my 15 y.o. DLink DL-655 which has been excellent but getting long in the tooth. Two antennas have lost their springy tension, collapse sometimes.

The conspiracy continues....

- 3rd B560 arrived dead, no POST, even MOSFETS are cold to the touch i.e. no current moving at all through them. CPU fan spins but that's it.

Seller did include an undisclosed and working Kingston 512GB SSD that was lurking inconspicuously under the M.2 heatsink though...

So, what are you gonna do about the board? Does the ssd cover cost and hassle to keep it?

- Dude at this point I have to assume you're buying stuff that's listed as "for parts not working" or you're buying 50 items a day and posting about the 1 that doesn't work because the number of issues you're having is beyond the pale.

Even I'd tell you to stop using eBay at this point... The unquantifiable cost to your mental health and the waste of time just isn't worth it.

I found it! Two bent pins nested in a corner inset, very difficult to see, I overlooked it the first time. Bent them back as best I could and VOILA! Seller must have missed it too because I contacted him immediately after buying and practically beg him to inspect the socket pins before shipping. Or he just said "yeah sure" and didn't. Either one.

BIOS updated and Windows installed even. Testing things out. I now have another one coming, because I was so confident the board was DEAD after spending over an hour with it last night, I went on Ebay and pulled the trigger on another while waiting for seller to get back to me. 🤪

I'll keep that one too if it works. I have a couple more CPUS for 10th and 11th gen that I picked up for cheap. And that WDC 500GB SSD ain't going nowhere either. My compensation for 2+ hours of frustration that could have been avoided. Also Windows activated itself after installing with no product key input. So free Windows license to boot.

Things are looking up for you then. Hopefully less complaining and more good news in future from you :)

Bro I'm on a roll! My last router purchase was correct model and working A CPU, RAM, and GPU combo I received a couple days ago all work great. Well, except seller advertise "SUPER" variant/model but it was the regular non-SUPER variant but he apologize and kicked me back $15. Now this. Nothing can stop me now, I'm on the ups! :p
