I recently returned from spending a week in London with my GF. While there we did a bit of shopping, but despite seeing many items I liked, I decided not to buy, saying I could find it here for less.

I just returned with a shirt priced at $150 and paid just over $60 for it. It was marked down three times, and with the store-wide sale I saved an additional 30%.

Best part is I saw the same shirt in London for £100.

Glad I didn't buy it there.

Would it be more acceptable had it been about a video card?

I'm going to London next week. I'll probably drop by Gap, and apperently Monsoon has oppened a shop for men as well which should be interesting to see.

Got any recommendations for shops to visit?

Oxford has all the big chain shops, Gap, Next, Espirit, etc., as well as the Selfridges, a great department store with some high-end labels. Avoid Next and Zara which are complete crap.

Regent Street has a few big name boutiques like Hugo Boss and a flagship Burberry shop.

Just off Regent Street is Carnaby Street, which is great for little higher-end boutique outfits like Paul Smith, Ted Baker, Diesel, Puma, etc. Lots of cool sneaker shops.

Sloane Street, near Harrods, is the place to be for high-end labels like Prada, Dior, Fendi, Gucci, etc.

Covent Garden has Paul Smith and Fred Perry.

Loads of good shopping. PM me if you want very specific advice.
