As a lot of you know, I moved down to Arizona from Iowa to help start up a new company.
Well, about a month ago I found out we are 99% certain that the company I moved to IA to help start up was going to be bought out. Both sides were basically ready to sign the deal and my services were going to no longer be needed in Arizona. So my boss tells me to move back up to Iowa.
So I move most of my stuff up a few weeks ago, and fly back down to AZ to close out my Apt and drive my car back up to Iowa.
On Monday Phoenix was about 45 degrees and pouring down rain making it a PITA to move stuff. I put up with about 4 hours of blizzard like conditions in northern AZ and New Mexico. The rest of the 26 hour drive was nothing but complete downpour pelting rain making for a miserable drive.
So I get back up to Iowa last night about 1:30 AM after driving for 26 hours.
Find out -
1) The company buying us out is backing out...so I moved back up for possibly nothing
2) The drivers for our stores trashed $10,000 worth of PDA's that I have to somehow try and get replaced over the holiday weekend
3) A $20,000 AS400 system that I shipped from IA to AZ was completely destroyed by Fed Ex. And the company I shipped it to needed to go live with it on Monday.
Just a fscking great week. I've got to work tomorrow to get a delayed go-live date ready to go for this weekend.
/me is ready to find a new job.
