As a lot of you know, I moved down to Arizona from Iowa to help start up a new company.

Well, about a month ago I found out we are 99% certain that the company I moved to IA to help start up was going to be bought out. Both sides were basically ready to sign the deal and my services were going to no longer be needed in Arizona. So my boss tells me to move back up to Iowa.

So I move most of my stuff up a few weeks ago, and fly back down to AZ to close out my Apt and drive my car back up to Iowa.

On Monday Phoenix was about 45 degrees and pouring down rain making it a PITA to move stuff. I put up with about 4 hours of blizzard like conditions in northern AZ and New Mexico. The rest of the 26 hour drive was nothing but complete downpour pelting rain making for a miserable drive.

So I get back up to Iowa last night about 1:30 AM after driving for 26 hours.

Find out -

1) The company buying us out is backing out...so I moved back up for possibly nothing
2) The drivers for our stores trashed $10,000 worth of PDA's that I have to somehow try and get replaced over the holiday weekend
3) A $20,000 AS400 system that I shipped from IA to AZ was completely destroyed by Fed Ex. And the company I shipped it to needed to go live with it on Monday.

Just a fscking great week. I've got to work tomorrow to get a delayed go-live date ready to go for this weekend.

/me is ready to find a new job.

:frown:

We were supposed to pen the deal on Monday and announce it on Monday to afternoon that we were sold. Owner gets a call about an hour before the announcement is to be made and finds out that the buyers are "exploring other options".

I'll quit and work at fscking walmart before I pack my sh!t in a truck and move back down to Arizona and work for that company again.

I rather panhandle for change on a street corner than step foot in one of those stores again.

I've had to work three shifts back to back, I had to go to a scene where a mother had thrown her two year old daughter out of the second floor window, the driver wrecked the ambulance I was in yesterday, and I get to work all day (24hours) tomorrow and Saturday. I'd still rather have my job than go through what you're going through.

Have a  and try to relax a bit. :)

I wouldn't blame you one bit. What a joke. You were looking for a new place anyway, before you moved, right? Unreal.

Well, I'd imagine if you bust open the box they are in and destroy the majority of them, they rule it as a total loss, rather than trying to make the buyer figure out which ones are good or not. I mean, if a box was destroyed enough to make most of them tear open and get busted up, you wouldn't want to distribute the rest of them because they might fail and create a bad reputation for the manu.

That, or the box got soaked.

Sounds like you need a $5.50 beer. :) On me of course if you're in the area. Sorry to hear about the job excursion. Sounds like they're screwing you - make sure your services come at a premium.

At $3200 a pop it doesn't take many.

Symbol PDT64xx or SPT1800? We've got about 40 of these in service in our warehouses. Not cheap, and the guys using them seem to think they're worth $20.
