This guy is just a FsCKING JERK. He needs to back off and realize what he is doing can be construed as religious persecution, what's next, sending christians to the gas chamber?

A federal appeals court is considering arguments that Christmas should no longer be observed as a national legal holiday.

That's it, the legal system in this country needs an adjustment, if it would even hear this person's insane request. :|

Here's an idea, leave the country!

Come on, the guy has a legit point. Church and State are supposed to be seperate in this country, by Christmas being a Federal Holiday, it is kind of claims Christianity to be the religion of choice. Now, I don't agree with the guy that Christmas should be stopped, but his point that Christmas interfers with what he teaches his child is a good one.

"Freak"
and "F**K HIM"

are remarkes that really don't need to be made because the man follows a different faith.

I always thought that they disguised the day off as some sort of winter holiday. I had no idea that they actually name it as a day off for christmas.
I don't mind the day off, but you have to wonder why there's a holiday for christmas? I don't care how happy and jolly all you christians are, but the bottom line is that it is a religious holiday approved by the government, and that's just wrong.
I doubt anyone but that crazy guy would want to give up a day off though! :D

I think that is a valid arguement. It's not really fair that my Jewish friends have to take a sick day to observe Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

Just because he's backwards compared to 99% of the US population doesn't give him the right to control what we do.

If he wants to bitch about it, let's revoke his citizenship & send him to Siberia. Wait... Do they celebrate Christmas there?

:D

Also, something else to point out... I know people who don't celebrate Halloween. Do they file lawsuits protesting the making of Halloween decorations in school, or Halloween parties? No, they simply don't participate. If this guy has such a big problem with his kid being exposed to Christmas, tell him to invest in a pair of blinders & earplugs for when he's outside his home.

sparkle is right
also, what about Wiccans, Jews, Buddhists etc.? there are quite a few of them, in the US and in Canada, and they have to take sick days for religious holidays etc.

i'm not supporting him, as i like having a few days in december off to rest, but his point is legit

There is a separation between church and the state. How is Christmas observed as a federal holiday? I am an atheist, but It doesnt matter to me if that holiday is observed.

How is Christmas religious? What does celebrating the birth of Santa Claus have to do with religion?

Have a happy Love Day!!!!

Well, quite frankly I'm pissed off that everything we do in America now days is pretty much tailored to the lowest common denominator. What if I don't want the lid on my HOT cup of McDonalds coffee to say "Caution: Contents may be hot" just because some f*cking moron decided to spill coffee on his penis and suffer burns. I'm an atheist myself, but I'll be damned if some small d*cked, whining moron is going to dictate what I can choose to celebrate or not celebrate across our country.

Oh my god....is this guy an idiot? For one thing, what's he cryin about, he's getting vacation days for nothin, basically. And what's he wasting his time for, he has to realize that he has absolutley no chance of winning this. What if I think it's unconstitutional to make kids say the Pledge in school, maybe I should go to court and get it banned from schools :)

The pledge of allegiance is not said in most schools anymore due to the addition of "under God"....

If he was smart, he'd go after easter and good friday.

He'd stand a better chance with those two. If you are non-christian, those days have little to no relevance to you at all. At least christmas has been commercialized to the point where everyone at least acknowledges it.

But, with easter, you are "celebrating" the death of the christ. Besides the easter bunny, there really isn't nearly as much commercialism and hype surrounding it.

If you ask me, that's the holiday to go after.

Have you ever worked at a retail store right before Easter?

We were pulling 4 5' tall pallets a night off our trucks; nothing but Easter candy.

That?s pretty stupid. Stop Christmas just because 1 person doesn?t like it. I have couple of Hindu and Buddhist and a Chinese friend (don't believe in religion). They just go with the flow and celebrate it their own way.
