What a dumbass

Sad thing is it's not the first time something like this has happened. Last year a similar thing happened. A guy was fleeing from the police and headed for the river. During the summer the river is normally really low, just look at the picture in the story I linked...the guy is standing up, and at places you can walk across. Well anyway this genius last year ran out into the river and about 1/2 way across the water started rising because the dam about 12 miles upstream had started letting water out earlier. Long story short....the guy has to be rescued by the cops who of course then took him to the jail.

Then there are the morons who get caught in rising water while fishing....just a few weeks ago a family of idiots had to be rescued after they got stuck on some rocks in the middle of the river when the water began rising. How this happens to catch people off guard I have no idea. Before the dam lets out water sirens sound at the dam and at points on the river where people can access it. At the particular spot these morons were in there were flashing lights as well as sirens. It's also not like it's a sudden rush of water after the sirens sound. If I remember the schedule right they sound 10 minutes before water release begins, and then 5 minutes before release begins and the lights flash the whole time from the first sounding of the siren. Anyway people have plenty of time to get the hell out of the river. Still there is at least 2-3 cases every year of some mental deficient getting caught in the rising water "unexpectedly"
