A bit of preliminary history:
We had a contractor coming to install vinyl replacement windows today. They said that when they got their shipment, they'd call and let us know when they would be here to do the install.
About 8 a.m., I'm "on the throne", and the wife comes in ranting at me:
"Didn't you hear the dammed phone or doorbell?" Nope I said...
"Well the contractors are here to do the windows...they woke me up!" she said...
So, as I rush around moving furniture so they have access to the windows, I manage to pull one of the "legs" off the return for my computer desk...
After they get done, (about 5 hours later) I try to repair the return...
All is going pretty well, until I stand it up on the end to get ready to turn it right-side up
The top falls off and right through one of the brand-new windows...
The fucking caulk isn't even dry, and I break the dammed window...
Fortunately, it's the sliding portion of the window, so it'll be easy to replace, AND, the windows come with lifetime breakage warranty...no matter how they get broken...
The only real down side is that it'll take 2-3 weeks to get the replacement...(only the inner pane is broken, so it's still weathertight)..
Some days, it just don't pay to get out of bed...
