What a day I had...

Some of you might know I work nights (7-7). Well, after a relatively quiet night at work last night, I was ready to get home (after my 50 mile commute) and get into bed for some much needed sleep.

I left work at 7am, got onto the GS Parkway and went about 2 miles before my car started "wobbling" like crazy and I felt as if I had no steering control. Pulled over without hitting anything, wondering what the heck went wrong.

AAA won't tow off of the parkway, so I drove SLOWLY with blinkers on to the next exit where I pulled into a service station. Called AAA for a tow truck, and had to ride home with the driver who took BACK ROADS to the Turnpike. Stuck in traffic for a bit, get to my mechanic's shop about 90 minutes later.

Get home at around 11.30, knowing I have to take the mother-in-law to freaking LaGuardia airport at 1.00!!! Anyone in the NY/NJ area knows what a bitch it is to get to this airport.

So I slept for an hour, left for the airport at 1pm, dropped her, and got back home at 5.30!!!!!

Just in time for..... WORK AGAIN... Showered, grabbed a bite, and headed in and here I am.

Couple this with last weeks 42 hour stint I pulled, and I am really not getting enough sleep these days... Ok rant over... I feel better.. lol

Cliffs:
Car went berzerk on teh highway on the way home from work
Had to ride home with tow truck driver
got only 1 hour sleep
Had to go to LaGuardia (took 5 hours r/t)
Now back at work on 1 hour sleep

PS The problem with the car was that a bolt snapped in the rear suspension, causing it to disjoin from the frame!!! Scary ******! Caused the whole car to be out of balance... mechanic already fixed it....

Edit: At least I am off for a week after tonight... Vegas baby!

My mechanic is a true find though... He replaced a bearing two weeks ago, and he said this might have had something to do with him possibly cross threading the bolt on reassembly, so he didn't even charge me for the fix and was extremely apologetic.

I dont know any mechanic that would admit to something like this.

Was the fog that bad for you this morning? When I was driving to Maryland from NY, the lower half of the Turnpike and up through the Tydings Bridge was an absolute nightmare around 5-6am.
