Had to go to a visitation Tuesday night, had the funeral yesterday. I was a "pall barer" (spelling?).
After the funeral I found out I did NOT get the internship. The woman doing the hiring said I had the most impressive resume AND interview, but she thought the internship would be more important to a college student who hasn't had any work experience yet. She said I already have a solid work history, so she gave the position to someone who better fit the profile she was looking for (someone who had no work experience, but active club/organization experience). Great! I don't get the super flexible, $13/hr internship (versus my $10.25/hr job) yet I was the most qualified individual... just not the person she wanted to "help out."
While I was finding out that I didn't get the internship, I left my sunroof open in my car yesterday, perfectly bright and sunny. Then a freak rainshower came for about 10 minutes and got some water in my car. Cell phone doesn't turn on now. Let it dry out, tried my fiancees battery and my phone works, but MY battery is apparently a goner from water damage.
Work told me I need to work 'til 3:00 pm today... and 6:30am - 3pm tomorrow and all of next week (instead of my regular 7:00am - 2:00pm).
Woke up late this morning so I didn't get to take a shower AND still got to work 10 minutes late. And my allergies are bugging me.
And I need to drive about 45 miles north of here right after work today to sign the title over to the old lady who bought my car in the first week of April. Did I mention I haven't taken a shower and I feel like crap?
Kentucky Real Estate Association called me and said I need to pay them $150 to keep my license in escrow. And they need the check day after tomorrow.
I guess when it rains, it pours, right?
To look on the bright side: I got a 95 on my make up final for bus. MGT 205 class... and I aced my media relations final, so I'm done until fall.
*cliff notes*
1. Attended sad funeral / visitation, was a pall barer.
2. Internship = denied
3. Cell phone = battery gone from water damage?
4. Annoying-ass hours assigned at work.
5. Late to work this morning, no shower. Allergies bugging me, feel like crap.
6. Have to drive 45 mins north of here to meet this old lady (for the 2nd time) to sign my title over in Ohio.
7. Kentucky Real Estate needs a check for $150 to keep my license in escrow. Wonderful.
Good things:
1. Good grades on finals / no more school until fall.
2. I get paid tomorrow so hopefully I can afford to pay for brake grease to stop my front brake squeal.
3. I'm alive and other people have a lot more to whine about, so I need to suck it up and look forward to the weekend.
