Teens Who Warmed Up Feces In 7-11 Microwave Captured

SANDY - Three juveniles who were videotaped putting a bag of human feces in a microwave at a Salt Lake area convenience store were arrested on Thursday, police said.

On Mar. 23, three teenage boys entered a 7-11 convenience store located near 2100 East and 9400 South. After milling around the store for a few moments, police said they went over to the microwave and put a bag of human feces inside -- and then set the timer for ten minutes before leaving the store.

A few minutes later, the microwave blew up and sent the excrement and a putrid stench around the store. The appliance was destroyed and the entire store had to be fumigated for a long period of time -- resulting in lost profits, officials said. Overall, about $3,500 in damages occurred.

The store's surveillance camera captured the teenagers and the entire stunt.

Sandy police said all three juveniles have since been caught, after the boys were recognized in media reports of the incident. Authorities said all three teenagers confessed to participating in the stunt.

Each of the three boys was charged with third-degree felonies stemming from the incident. They were not publicly identified due to their juvenile status.

Yeah a microwave isn't just going to 'blow up'. It probably just kept cooking until all the water steamed out. Of course the fan is gonna spread those wonderful fecal odors for 10 minutes.

i think they meant the contents of the microwave blew up. the microwave would be destroyed just because of that occurrence.

We put an egg in our home microwave, and when the egg exploded, the door flew open.

I don't see how poop would make the door fly open though... unless the bag was sealed.

Grapes in microwaves can create plasma, so extrapolating that effect, I suppose explosive feces isn't out of the question...

This is much better then the group of teenagers last year who poured industrial strength drain cleaner down the slide of playground equipment last year in my area. A small boy later went down the slide and received 3rd degree burns down his thighs and legs. He had to stay in the intensive care unit for a period of time.

Unfortunately since the laws in this country are written to protect kids they got off easy and served small sentences.

Parents today don't take care of their children. The only best justice I've seen was when that boy in Singapore was caned over vandalizing the cars there. Something like that needs to be done but much more severe.
