That's not the point. The point is that bonus income gets HAMMERED in taxes. Sure you pay 15% or whatever on your normal pay, but bonus pay gets taxed at an incredibly higher rate. Around 44% or so.

That's because they tax your bonus check as if that is the kind of check you always get. Therefore, you're taxed at the highest tax bracket. It evens out when you do your tax returns.
