I am building a couple SFF boxes and want some quite case fans, proabably 2 will be (1 front 1 rear) used in each case, I want good fans but I want them to be quiet, I haven't ever bought any 60mm fans only 80, so what do you guys reccomend?

I always recommend high dollar Pabst fans. If you're serious about a quiet system, they are the best. You'll have to put your money down though... $16.95 each.

16 dB baby!

I have 2 of the 80mm in my P4 system, and you can't hear them.

I wouldn't waste the money. I've bought Papst, Nexus, Panaflo, Zalman, NMB, Speeze, Vantec. The bottom line is that the majority of the noise with fans is the air distrubance which directly relates to CFM. I'd get a fan that will push just enough air and then get either a fan mate or do a wire mod to undervolt it if it's still too noisy.

If you ordered 4 more your shipping would have been free. That would be less than $10 more.

yeah I didn't really need that many of these, I did order 10 before on some Thermaltake 80mm fans a while back and I have used only 1 so far. With that said as much as I like the Egg, they can charge a lot on shipping sometimes.

So in effect, you paid $17.25 each for the two fans that you'll actually use... <smirk>
you'd have done just as well buying the Pabst fans.

I tend to agree, or just buy a low speed fan if possible.
I am happy with my Vantec stealths, they run at a mere 2100 RPM and are perfectly quiet for my needs.

No, I can use 6 fans just not ten, see my original post, I have 2 cases with 2 fans minimum each, but I will use 3 in each.
