What 360 game to buy in the near future?

Alright, I've got $30 in Amazon store credit that can only be used towards gaming stuff and expires on December 31st. What should I get?

I was originally intending to pick up Tekken 6 but everything I've read about it says it's pretty bad. Bad graphics, terrible main story, bad lag for multiplayer, enough to keep me away.

Traditionally I don't pay $60 for a short single player only game unless it's got replay value out the wazoo (and there aren't many that do), otherwise I'd get Batman: Arkham Asylum or Assassin's Creed 2.

So it looks like (unfortunately) it'll probably end up being another FPS unless there's other cool games coming out that I don't know of yet.

I really liked the first Bioshock but once again not much replay value and I think that for Bioshock 2 the multiplayer component is 99% afterthought/filler.

I played the first Left 4 Dead on my brother in law's PC for all of 5 minutes. It was over Thanksgiving last year and I couldn't get into it (probably because I knew nothing about it and I'm not much of a scary movie guy) but it seems to be a really popular game. Will getting L4D2 now leave me way behind in the story or anything? How is the gameplay? Is it..."scary" or more of the comedic horror? How does it play on the 360?

I've also never played Battlefield: Bad Company, but I know that Bad Company 2 is coming out early next year. How similar is it to Modern Warfare 2 (which will consume a large portion of my time as it is)? Difficult to transition between the two?

I liked the first Mass Effect but not enough to spend $60 on the second, that's another rental.

Any other games coming out that I don't know about? Any thoughts/suggestions from ye gamers?

If all else fails I could just get some Xbox live point cards.

He knows Krav Maga. He tried to date his Krav Maga instructor and his wife died of ovarian cancer. Can you guess who he is?

Previous iterations of this series had multiplayer but for this title, it has not been revealed yet. Hopefully, that adds to the longevity that you seek.

Color me clueless, I give up.

Just realized I could also pre-order Max Payne 3 or Final Fantasy 13 I suppose.

The clues about the Krav Maga and ovarian cancer were in the first book by David Michaels.

I think BF: bad company 2 is going to have a lot of improvements and even the first one was great but it is way off in March.

Bad Company is a whole different experience from MW2. I'll admit, the CoD franchise has that close quarters, stuff everyone into a tiny map, more knife kills than gun kills gameplay down cold, but Bad Company is a whole nother level.
It's not out till spring though, are you meaning you could pre-order it with your credit?
I honestly don't know what to suggest for you, realizing you want a ton of value for your moola. There really isn't much now that Forza and MW2 are out.

Kromis, I played the first Splinter Cell and didn't like it at all. Fantastic graphics but I just couldn't get into it.

Yeah, I could pre-order a game with my credit as well, it's not that far off. It's not like I have to have another game right now, I've got FM3 and MW2 and keep me busy.

Hrm, is there a Bad Company 1 demo out? I might give it a whirl.

Left 4 Dead 2 has a demo up on Live (unless they've taken it down). It's best to try the game with 3 other people though as the friendly AI has gotten dumber even though the Infected AI has gotten better.

Prickly is right about Borderlands though. Diablo with guns. No demo though.

Hrm, I need to try L4D2's demo. I saw the video for Borderlands, it looks so-so to me.

Assassin's Creed 2 is supposed to be 18-40+ hours, from what I've read. Not sure if that still falls too short for a single player game.

Wow, that is a pretty good chunk of time, although the first game certainly didn't seem near that long. Course, compare that to any Final Fantasy game at 60-80 hours and it pales in comparison (but that's a different story).

I could pick it up, beat it, and ebay it for a bit of profit (and I'd get $10 in game credit from it as well!). All I've seen/read thus far do make it look like a drastic improvement over the first game.

I don't think I would buy BF:BC this late. The multiplayer was pretty much dead last time I played it due to all the great MP games that have came out since.

It was a GREAT game, but personally I'd wait for BF:BC 2 if anything.
