what 17" LCD to buy?

I'm new to this forum, so I'm not sure where to post this. I'm looking for a quality 17" LCD in the $500-$650 range. Could you recommend some? Much thanks.

I saw someone here posting the Dell 1702FP for about $610 shipped and I think that is a SMOKING deal as they are BEAUTIFUL.

Our school just picked up 56 new Dells with these LCDs and they are gorgeous.

I read a round-up of LCD's on the internet and the NEC/Mitsubishi 17" rated very well. I actually got a chance to see this unit on display at my local Sam's Club and it was indeed VERY sweet! They also had a Samsung 17" unit beside it that was also nice, but the picture never seemed quite as good as the NEC. I would love to get the 17" NEC if I could get someone to buy my 19" Sony G400.

the wife bought a 17" Samsung LCD at Sam's Club - linky $599
it is gorgeous! amazingly bright, wide angle of view, and razor sharp. highly recommended.
