Going cross eyed looking at motherboard specs for a 1156 motherboard that will be using an i5 probably the i5 661. Would like to have USB3 and SATA3.

Back in January I had a heck of a time with a GigaByte P55A-UD3 with it chirping and being temperamental with Cosair high end memory. At the time Gigabyte support was no help with a chirping problem and it still has not been fixed 7 months after I ran across it.

The P7P55D-E Pro has a whining problem due to a coil problem so I eliminated that one.
I had thought of using an Asus P7P55D-E until I read an article that the P55 based motherboards do not handle the full throughput of USB3 and SATA3.

So now I am back at square one. :(

The Asus series is your best bet if you want to fully utilize your video cards. If you want the most bandwidth for PCIe and USB/SATA 3 then you need to go to X58.

When you say Asus series and particular Asus model? I have never seen so many motherboards from Asus or Gigabyte that have this many problems. The Asus P7P55D-E LX has a problem that requires one to boot the system with only the bare necessities on the board and then add any additional devices one by one. The x58 based boards require a 1366 CPU.

Does anyone else have some feedback on a S1156 motherboard for photoshop and web surfing? Would like USB3/SATA3 on it.

Is there any advantage of using a i5-750 CPU in this type of computer rather than a newer one dual cores but with hyper-threading? The current CPUs would have on board graphics controller that would allow using a H55 H57 chipset motherboard that has on board video without a videocard. With i5-750 on the same mb one would need a graphics card.
