I have a Asus P5B mobo, coming on the first, and have Patriot 2x1 gb ddr2 800 pc26400 kit.
I,ve been told that there may be a compatibility problem. So this morning I call Asus, and the tech told me when I asked if this memory worked on his board" they don't test memory", so how do they design their product, and make recommendations for particular memory? He says that the manufacturers send the data to them! Absolutely no help!
Next I call Patriot, and I ask if their product is compatible with the Asus P5B, and he tells me that they haven't had the chance to obtain a test sample, and specifications of their memory "should" work, "but there is always a chance that the mobo won't like this particular brand of memory"!
I've spent more on the memory, than the total cost of the mobo itself, for good quality memory, and a great mobo, and both manufacturers, can't and won't communicate with each other, and could care less about consumer support!
So after all the ranting, does anyone yet have a similar configuration( E6400, P5B, and Patriot pdc22g6400llk 1gx2 ddr2 pc2 6400), up and running?
