Im running an overclocked 300a on my BH6 MB I would like to swap out the cpu for a faster one without changing much else....whats the fastest slot one P3 with 100mhz FSB that will work in this board? I would be willing to go to 133mhz memory if necessary. but basically I want to nurse this system along for a while longer without spending too much then I can build what I want...thanks for any help system =BH6 MB , 300a Cel@ 464 , 160mb PC100 mem ,TNT2 ultra Vid, soundblaster live sound,

probably the best bang for your buck would be a P3 700.
Most will do 933 with no problems.

From what I have read the BH6 can handle P3's and the newer Celerons with little problems.
Correct me if I'm wrong. 😀

The fastest supported cpu currently available is a p3 1GHz (100mhz fsb) Slot 1. I think the latest bios goes all the way up to a 12.0 multilier...though i'm not sure since i don't have this board. if it does then you can use a slotket or whatever they call it to support the upcoming P3 1.1GHZ (100MHz fsb) - $268 at launch, $241 on July 15. Someone at overclockers.com has his overclocked to 1120Mhz with the same board...so you should be in good shape for awhile.

I recently pulled my trusty old 300A@464 off my BH6 and slapped in a P3-750 on a generic slocket. Gently OC'd to 773MHz (103 fsb). Works good, costs little.

The biggest pain was I had to take the mobo out of the case because the CPU retaining thingies were different and the only way to change them was to take the whole damn thing apart. Otherwise it was plug'n'play. Oh, and don't forget to flash the BH6 BIOS to version SS (for rev 1.0x boards) BEFORE you put in the new CPU. The CPU is then correctly identified as well as the default voltage.

Currently running an 850e at 950 on a rev 1.01 bh6 so you're board's probably good enough for at least this much.

Would'nt be so sure about the 700->931 overclock as the only pci dividers are 1/2 and 1/3 which means running agp & pci pretty far beyond spec & your cards migh'nt be so happy with this.
