wireless cards? External drives? something else?
I'm curious and would like to know what you guys use em for.

I currently don't, but am thinking of getting a port expander so I could hook up multiple drives and devices (firewire and usb 2.0)

PC card adapter for digicam's CF card + 11b/g card as well as a modem for old lappy w/o working inboard modem

nothing. I already have usb2.0 firewire and wireless. I don't think I'll need it (only have 1) for anything.

On the rare occassion that my laptop is mobile, I have my wireless card in one slot and the other is empty.

Mine's empty. I might get a firewire card if I need one. But then again, I might just get a cheaper pci one for my desktop.

nothing, i have firewire (4 pin, dell u fsckers use standard 6pin god damnit), wireless, usb 2.0 all built in...
