I would like to take my GF to a whale watching trip but don't know where to start. I know google has plenty of links but they don't really have any feedback from real people.

So has anybody here been to one?

How was it?
Were you disappointed?
Did really get to see the whales?

Was the trip fun overall ?

Can you recommend any particular company?

and pretty much anything else you might have to say about it 🙂. I can easily drive down to Norther NH, Boston or capecod so anything within that area would be great.

thanks.

I did a whale watch in Provincetown in Cape Cod, with Dolphin Fleet. I had a great time, as this one whale basically just kept toying with us, going under the boat multiple times, causing everyone to run back and forth on both sides of the ship. At one point too, he "tricked" us, going under the boat, but coming back out on the same side, while we all ran to the other side. The other highlight was seeing an ~400 pound tuna chasing after some other fish. That tuna would leap outta the water right after that fish. It was great.
It was definitely fun, and I wouldn't mind doing it again. Too bad I didn't have my digital camera back then.

cool they have the sighting gaurantee as well. I am gonna wait couple weeks for the the rain to stop and once its nice and sunny I will give them a call. I will awesome to try out my new Canon s230.

My parents had fun a few years ago, I was in school so I missed it:frown:

They also told me it's better if you go from Salem, MA, instead of Boston since its a shorter boat trip.

I have gone out with Capt. Johns Boats out of Plymouth several times. One time in particular was amazing. A whale seemed to be fascinated by us and played by the boat. His flipper went into the air, and I shook "hands" with a whale! Will never forget it.
