Personally, I'm really hoping he stays on. There is so much derision being pointed in his direction that I feel Biden alone can drag down an Obama win. Can anyone really imagine Joe as the Commander in Chief? It could happen. That's one of the reasons we have a VP.

Hillary has made it clear she doesn't want the job. Who are some likely replacements? I have no guesses of my own.

I read an interesting conspiracy theory kinda thing. The gist of it is that Biden will bow out after announcing he's got prostate cancer. It's a great way to save face. Outwardly symptom free, with no weight loss and highly curable.

I hope he does, it might help Romneys chances of getting into office..........then destroying the country from the inside out. With obama, hell destroy it from the inside AND call in people from the outside.

On on hand I believe our OP in Boomerang asks an intersting question. On the other hand many democrats including me greatly admire Joe Biden. And on the other hand, and who says we should only be limited to 2 hands, Joe Biden is both getting too old to run as VP again and has a political temperment ill suited to be a VP.

But still I say to Boomerang, it not your call, as it may be a Obama only surprise call one way or another. Tick Tick Tick, only 8 or so days to wait.

Biden isn't going anywhere, when you win you usually don't change the winning formula.

Just FYI, those not in the right wing echo chamber don't give a shit about Biden whatsoever. His 'gaffes' aren't important or especially noticeable, plus if you actually look at them they usually make sense, so they only matter to the "overhears a headline on Fox News that confirms preheld beliefs" crowd. They're already not voting for Obama.

Whether you like Joe Biden or not it would be a bad move for a President to drop his VP at this point.

The only person Obama would replace him with would be Hillary so the Republicans better be on their knees praying that Biden stays on the ticket.

Tell that to FDR, who ran for and won POTUS four times, and each time with a different VP.

This. Biden may be a gaffe factory, but his actual record and policies are worth putting against his GOP counterpart any day. I doubt he will be replaced unless Hillary wanted in, which would go against the indications of her previous statements.

At this point Biden is in. Back in 2009 my thought was that we would see an Obama/Napolitano ticket in 2012. But as Joe hasn't screwed up and Napolitano has Fast and Furious hanging around her neck that scenario now longer plays.

I feel this way too.

If Obama was planning on dropping Biden, I think it would have already been in the works for a while now, and I'd think we'd know about it. Other than Hillary, and I don't think she wants the job, that person would need to be vetted. That's not a quick process, and there would be a number of people involved and I don't believe it could be kept secret.

"If it ain't broke don't fix it"

Biden seems accepted by his party and to change at this date may project a lack of confidence and stability, two things Obama does not need questioned.
