Whacky 3com works half the time in Asus A7M266-D

Urk, I can't get this 3com 3xp (server edition) of the NIC to work correctly. Every time I reboot when it is working, it stop working when WIn2k loads up. WHen I reboot at that point, on the next load up it works again. I also noticed this with another 3xp card in a Asus A7V-133 (the slot A original) Anyone have any ideas or fixes?
