this is so f-in lame... everything i've bought... my first laptop... now my second... my LCD monitor... and even the LCD screen on my digical camera... AND on my video camera... has had one or more dead pixels...

NOW... the F-in CRT that I bought a little while back has a F-in dead pixel (well dead spot) on the screen...

is this bloody possible? and can my luck be any worse?

I once had one in a KDS 17" Trinitron-based CRT I had. Actually, there were 3. About a month later, I noticed they were gone. One still remains, but it's in the upper corner. It must be possible that they can come back to life or something. I was quite suprised that I couldn't find the other two anymore.

But yes, you sure do have bad luck. That's the only screen I've ever owned (out of the LCD on my laptop and all my CRTs) that actually had a dead pixel.

Better luck on your next purchase! :)
