now that i've been thinking about deep, involved subjects, i figure i should express my beliefs on sexual orientation. i'm not here to gay bash, or anything like that, i just want to say what i think.

i don't have anything against homosexuals, i believe that if someone is happy the way they are, why force them to change? however, do i think it's right? here is where i get confused.

I BELIEVE that from an evolutionary standpoint, homosexuality does not fit into the scheme of things. the point of evolution, first and foremost, is to produce offspring to continue the advancement of a species. this is where it doesn't fit. if the point of evolution, survival of the fittest and all that, why would a species develop where some members do not procreate?

i guess this may be some extremely indirect form of population control, but i really don't have an answer for it.

i know i'm making some generalizations here: some homosexuals(i hate labeling) do procreate. i'm also assuming that homosexuality is something genetic/something you're born with, rather than a choice people make.

what do you guys think?

P.S. should i write a book about this crap, because i could easily write another 20 deeply involved posts about random topics like this.
 
Lesbians don't fit in evolution but we sure do not mind them.

But in a bit more serious note, BJ's and such don't have a point in evolution either....

It'd be easier to just dig through the ATOT archives and compile a Cliff's Notes version since this kind of stuff has been discussed ad nauseum previously.

You know what annoys me about Homophobes?? It's such a double standard for them. They hate homosexual men but would love to hit it w/ 2 homosexual women.

that's true, although i think these are simply products of the complexity of the human mind. people get old -> get jealous of youngin's (maybe not, im just guessing) -> use their authority to impose restrictions on procreation -> youngin's resort to other ways to get off their jollies.

since ealier species didnt really have a "conscience" or free will to the same extent we do, evolution didnt need the "sexual drive" that it did with humans. since humans can actually contemplate what they go through, it complicates things.

i dont really have an answer, only discussion.

The population is too large as it is. I'm glad there is a certain % of the population that aren't going to be popping out brats.
 
What cracks me up here is that the average person on ATOT needs all the goddamn help they can get scoring a chick. You'd figure they'd be all FOR gay people, wouldn't you?

evolutionary arguement only works when applied to individuals only. but as part of a society, it becomes more complicated.

not really. i may be a huge minority here, but i only want 1 woman at 1 time. besides, compared to the woman i want, no other woman would even come close, so it wouldnt look right.

accually, BJ's and other foreplay does serve a purpose. It helps to lubriacate the vagina and to a limited extent the penis in order for easier and also non-painful insertion into the vagina. It prepares both partners for the "sex" part of things. The penis "grows" and the vagina also gets deeper. Foreplay does serve a purpose.

I have enough trouble sorting thru my own life to even think about the intimare lives of others and how they impact on evolution. Lol,life is confusing enough🙂
 
i hate to break it to you, but human beings aren't some new kid on the gay block. most mammals have a percentage of their population that's gay. gay dogs, cats and hamsters, etc, are all over the place. if anything, homosexuality just shows that we fit into the evolutionary model.

That's nothing exclusive to homophobes, non-homophobic men feel the same way, too, if not more so. Or by "homophobe", did you mean a straight guy who won't have sex with another man? The term homophobic is tossed around pretty carelessly and usually misapplied. Its not always about 'fear', its about 'dislike' or 'disgust'.

Anyway, a straight man can relate to a lesbian or bisexual woman, we love p-ssy, too. 😀
