For some reason i was on dslreports.com this morning and noticed that my connection had greatly improved over the night! Im on the 768/128 package and usually never break 100k/sec constantly. Just went on dslreports again and this is what i got

Your download speed : 1326827 bps, or 1326 kbps.
A 161.9 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 116788 bps, or 116 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

upload still sucks i know. But i can download 70k/sec faster now!

It's only because all the nerds are out buying hardware. It will slow back down once they start surfing again.

you'd think there would be a wait or something for the speed test servers, seeing as how they can only handle a test every 3 seconds...

My local RR was upgraded to 3megabit/second barrier at the end of September but, I still only get 150-200Kbps speeds, not the advertised 3megabit.

Some people already got the upgrade to 3mbps, upload remains the same.

Hell yah! Why in the world would they do that though? It just doesn't make too much business since to me; though i'm not the one running a million dollar biz.

Just tested my DSL - results:

Your download speed : 655058 bps, or 655 kbps.
A 79.9 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 139178 bps, or 139 kbps.

For DSL, not bad...:)

They have to, to keep up with dsl price cutting. Most cable companies are.

The upgrade is to handle increased volume....soon enough the cable speeds will creep back down...in congested areas you are lucky to get 1/2 to 3/4 normal dsl speeds, and the worst I have heard is 56k on peak time....I didn't confirm that.

I get about 1216k to my local terminus (218k up) and 900k worst case anywhere else (still 218k up oddly).
