Big-time! :p

Taking things a step further... even if I have your number in my contacts, you don't text well in advance to warn me your calling so I have time to psych myself up to actual human interaction, the chances of my picking up the phone are slim at best!

;)
That is very Millennial of you.

I don't think I've ever had a warranty on a car I owned. There's nothing there for them to hook me into.

Some asshole rang my phone at 6:04AM today. I heard it even though I had silicone ear plugs jammed in my ears. First time I did that in a few years. I had jammed them in around 4AM because there was a helicopter circling endlessly overhead!

Now it's all home warranty stuff. Including the ominous title, 'your home is no longer safe'. But it's all by email, so probably not the FCC. FTC maybe? Who's the Internet Email Police?

It’s not all by email. Those are my number one calls now. I talk dirty to them now but it hasn’t worked.

I haven't talked to any of those people in years. I don't pick up the phone. If I'm aware it's not someone I want to talk to, i.e. it's somebody looking for a sucker, I just hit my call block function on my Panasonic landline phone. Then that number won't be able to call me.

You do realize that they spoof numbers and will never call you with the same number coming up... Blocking numbers on your landline (I have Panasonic phones also) or on your cell phone does nothing to block them

Yeah, I knew that, but I figure not all of them spoof numbers and if they don't then call blocking will work. I mean, can't be all of them doing number spoofing, right?

Man I should do that.
i thought about doing that, but then i can't hear my friends yell and cuz me out for not answering my cell phone.

My friends know if im not answering the phone, call the house and raise hell during the recording.
If i still don't pick up, it means im either not at the house, or im out doing productive stuff and can't text or answer calls due to clients.

When they come over for a gathering, we have a blast listening to it, and hearing who has the most obnoxious recording.

That is very Millennial of you.

I think its more Gen X.
We are pretty much known as the forgotten generation for a reason. :D
My friends and I who are also Gen X are very difficult to get a hold of sometimes, and may take up to a week to respond.

So the FCC has a do not call list to prevent you from receiving unwanted solicitation calls. That works well... right?

Now the FCC say they have stopped the car warranty scam calls... I'm not holding my breath.

It may have worked.

My mind has been wandering aimlessly, worried about various problems including paying unexpected bills. One point was how to get a vehicle fixed if it breaks down, how expensive it would be and that there are no programs to help. I'm thinking, gee, even my auto insurance won't help, it would be nice if there was some kind of .... hey, wait, what ever happened to all those scam calls?
