I know i've said it before (probably in their own thread), but these IEMs are so un-be-freaking-leavable i just had to post again...

Just fired up some classical guitar and they just SHINE. Clear and crisp highs, warm mids, and deep clean bass. Its amazing what a difference dual drivers can make.

For anyone in the market for some good IEM's, i can without a single doubt, give these my highest recommendation.

The difference between these and Shure E2C's is night and day (for anyone thinking of upgrading). Owning both, the e2c's haven't been used in months.

How about the difference between them and the Etymotic ER-4P?
Have you compared them?
I personally had the Shure E2Cs before, and I found them to sound worse than my Creative stock earbuds. But the soundisolation and comfort of the E2C makes it lightyears ahead of the stock earbuds.
I use the ER-4P now.

comfort of UM2>ER-4P, alotta people find its earrape unbearable.
bass of UM2>ER4P, which has less bass and has a tendency to overemphasize the treble, giving a slight illusion of detail, although it is nevertheless a very detailed set of IEMs

How's the UM1's vs. the UM2's? $300 is a bit steep for me. Would I be better off getting the Westone 56 custom tips to fit my e2c's, or going with the UM1/UM2.

why would you spend $$$ for custom tipson cheap, not-so-great sounding IEMs?

Well, it would provide a better fit, which equals to better isolation, which equals to a better music experience.

What would be better, factoring in bang to the buck:

UM2's ($300)
UM1's + custom molding ($200)
Current e2c's + custom molding ($100)

EDIT: What about Ultimate Ears, Shure's e3c/e4c, and any other solutions? I listen to acoustic rock, light rock, nothing with too much bass.

mm... you could get used UM2s for around 230, but I might go for the UM1's without custom molding or the E4cs, or wait for the new Shures to come out. Of course, they're considerably more expensive, but they've received glowing reviews so far

I picked up the E3C's today, couldn't pass up the offer at $50 each :p

If it wasn't for that deal I would have gone for the UM2's without a doubt.
