That's a nice deal for a 42! I'd jump on this if I had the money and the space.

How is buydig.com as a reseller? Their ratings are ok, but their return policy seems crappy. I am buying this TV but am probably going to buy it at Crutchfield for $1500 ($250 more) because of greater customer service / better return policy.

Edit: BTW it is now $1,222 shipped at buydig

i've been following the 32w3 (finally broke the $1000 mark shipped to cali) for a few months now and buydig has been the cheapest along with digital1234. i've just never heard of these places on here. i want to know their policy on dead pixels. anyone know or have dealt with either before?

yeah, the guys at AVSforum RAVE about these screens.

the new Westinghouse TX models are coming out soon (to go along side these LVM ones).

the TX ones have a higher contrast ratio, 4 HDMI inputs, 1080p across all inputs, and an integrated NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner.

not to thread crap just giving some info before people pull the trigger. the LVM models are AWESOME for monitors.

Know what the suggested retail is going to be? With all of the "extra" stuff on there I'm betting it's going to have to increase quite a bid, and erode the Westinghouse as one of the best "values" on the market right now.

yep, what he said.

not really much of an increase in price, westinghouse has claimed that theyre going to use both lines at the same time...but im still trying to figure out where the LVM has the edge on the TX....

but i suppose we wont really know until these new sets start shipping out. if your using it solely as a monitor, the tuner wont matter (or if your using it for HTPC use like i am), contrast ratio may or may not be inflated or incorrect depending on marketing so we'll have to see, and the multiple HDMI may or may not be important.

so yeah, tough call ATM.

EDIT: I just checked the OP's link....looks like its down to 1222 shipped? HOT baby, HOT.

Beachcamera is the parent/B&M for buydig. My girlfriend bought a d70s from them and had an issue. We took it to the store and they tried a few lens/body/memory card combos to find what the issue was (bad memory card).

All in all a good experience and very fast shipping too.

I bought a nikon cp5700 from them before and had no probs, but that's just my personal experience.

Great price for a GREAT monitor.

I have a pair of these and nothing even comes close for the price. I've had several people think they were Sony's from afar until they see the "W" logo underneath :p

The TX series is coming and these will drop a bit but if you don't need the ATSC tuner and don't care about 4 HDMI inputs (vs. 1 on the LVM42-W2) this is a steal!

I purchased my Sharp Aquos from buydig and used the free shipping. It came quickly and worked perfectly. I think if you get any TV from a non-B&M just make sure you're there to inspect the TV before you sign for delivery and you should be fine.

Anyway, my experience was great with the one caveat being that I didn't have to bother with returns.

I agree that sounds great in theory, however, when my 56" Samsung DLP arrived from Amazon I just couldn't bring myself to ask the delivery guy to stand around for 5 minutes while I set it up. I guess I'm a wuss. :p Luckily the TV's been great since October.

Its a really nice monitor, but I am partial to the 37 for pc use. We have 3 of our fellow gamers at the every-6 week lan I attend (adults only apply) in Austin use these.

Here is a pic from an angle of 2 of them.

There are other shots in there, and some of the 37 inch version also. Nice monitor, but I am waiting for the TX version for my wife's living room.

The TX42 is essentially the same shipped price at jandr as amazon ($1500). However, the TX47 is only $1675. That's a more serious size for a movie display (especially 2.39:1 content). However the li'l 37 is prolly about as big as is bearable for a PC display at this low resolution. As for ye olde LVM42, I don't think I'd "save" the $200 in lieu of higher contrast, faster response time, multiple digital inputs, USB firmware updates, integrated tuners, &c. Of course then the additional $175 difference for the TX47 seems foolish to resist ;)

Anyhoo, the head honcho at "Westinghouse" among others expect prices to continue plumetting so no hurry. Too bad LED BLU's still aren't mainstream yet.

Not so much SOL as banished to Clunkyville along with most subscribers.

p.s. Clunkyville is on the other side of the tracks from the more desirable Funkytown ;)

those of you that have the 42w2 (or 37w3) can you do PIP over different inputs? I.e., can you do picture in picture through DVI, and other PIP through HDMI? This way could have Vista MCE overlayed on top of HD cable viewing? Is that possible? If so, seems pretty cool, and a good selling point over Aquos lines. If not and PIP is only possible with like two TV channels, I don't really care.

TIA,

TIA,

Yes, at my friend's house we have had the PC in one window and the 360 in another.
