Found a great deal on this TV and am seriously considering purchasing it. I just got a $10,000 raise this year so I'm feeling naughty. :)

The wife isn't so sure about spending so much on a TV but admits she would really like one. My plan is to set the TV up with my Conroe e6600, X1900XTX rig to use as a media center PC. I've also got Logitech Z-5500 speakers. We'd be sitting about 11" from the monitor. I'd like to use it for HDTV, web surfing, watching recorded TV shows, and DVDs.

Is it worth it to spend $1900 on a TV like this right now? Should I push harder to get my wife to agree to it?

Anyone else have experience with a 1080p LCD TV they use as a HTPC. Worth the money or should I hold out for larger, less expensive LCDs?

If you're going to hook it up to a HTPC, it should be perfect. I would wait for Vista and cable card support so you can get HD support, but until then any general HTPC will work. (You need dual core and HDCP for the best Vista experience) Looks like you're set. Alot of members here have the westinghouse, and for the money there aren't many that are comparable. I'd get it, especially since you're hooking it up to a HTPC.
