The OP needs to revise the title to point out that this is 1080p. $1300 for a 1080p LCD of this size is super-hot.

Only things I can even nitpick are the lack of an ATSC tuner, no CableCard, and that it doesn't accept 1080p over component (which is starting to appear to be a handy feature). Relatively minor complaints, and the first two can be fixed pretty easily if need be.

Worked for discount chain :p

Also, the 47" accepts 1080p over component. It should use the same internals as the 42".... but I could be wrong.

I bought one some six months ago, was somewhat worried about all the issues reported on avsforums, but all for naught. It does indeed make a sweet monitor, and the purrfect excuse to upgrade my graphics card so that I could play everything at 1920x1080. Haven't had any problems with it, and only two little quibbles. One being that the remote doesn't have the best signal cone, have to point it -right- towards the receiver on the tv for it to work. The other being that the picture looks best when the tv is up higher, in my opinion at least.

Oh, and there are some other places to buy this now for a similar price (since it seems like xpcgear raised their price a bit, and corrected shipping costs). And some of the other places probably have better return policies.

if it's anything like the 32" and 37" Westy's then it's the TV with crappy remote reception as any universal remote suffers the same issue of having to point right at the TV.
