Hey guys, so I have a two year old westinghouse 37" from one of those really good deals a while back. I have it hooked up to my PC and use it as my primary computer. Recently I attached a PS2 to the TV for some nostalgic gaming and when I switched back to DVI, the entire screen has shifted down about an inch. It covers up half of the task bar and is really annoying, since it blocks all of the video options in hulu. Does anyone know how to re-center the image? I can't find it in the tv settings.

time to bust out the manual... I'm sure it just needs to be reset back to the same aspect ratio or something is hosed in that case time to buy a new tv...

no luck. The manual doesn't say squat. There is an "Auto Adjust" feature but it's only applicable to VGA and since i'm connecting via DVI, i'm SOL. There's nothing wrong with the monitor otherwise. I just turned on the PS2 to play games and all of a sudden the image shifted off center when I switched back. Otherwise it looks fine but is just annoying.

Did you check video card settings to make sure overscan is not turned on?

Don't know if this would help, but maybe hook up a VGA cable from video card, too, then switch from PS2 to VGA then to DVI (seems like tvs used as computer monitors may be more compliant with VGA than DVI ?)

I dunno ... my sister has a cheap tv. forget the brand but when we connected her computer up to the DVI port, I had to go into the the menu and hunt around for about half an hour going through all the different options till I got to the aspect ratio menu for the dvi setting... selected the right ratio and it was a perfect fit. I'm not sure what I did to fix her problem but... Hope you get it fixed.

Good Luck! You could punch in your TV model # in google sometimes they have a forum for specific TV's. Hopefully you can figure it out!

I just did a basic search and came back with this...

Unplug your TV from the wall for 1/2 hour or so, plug it back in and that may fix your Westy problem as it has done for countless others.
