Westinghouse 32" LCD

I just hooked up my XP MCE PC to my new Westinghouse 32" LCD. I'm using an X800 GTO with a DVI connection to HDMI connection to the LCD. It boots fine, but I can't get it to display anything other than 640X480 32 bit.

I've got the latest ATI drivers installed.

What steps do I need to take to get a better resolution?

When the system boots, it displays all the boot screens and Windows XP splash screen just fine (the OSD says it's in 1080i using the HDMI input). As soon as the main "field" screen appears, the screen switches to 640x480 HDMI. Going into the display properties and settings the slider bar where I would normally change the resolution only shows 640x480 and one other option (800x600) but won't let me move the slider bar, even though it's not ghosted.

What do I need to do to get 13x7 resolution?

Does this UseNet post help?

"Ok.. so I have the pc hooked up via VGA cable and the tv lets me set
resolutions all the way up to 1080i HDTV but when hooking up via DVI I
cannot go above 640x480 16 bit color...

here is what it was..

when hooked up by DVI my computer saw the tv as a Plug and Play Monitor,
when hooked up via VGA cable it sees it as default monitor.. anyway when
hooked up via DVI I looked at all available modes and only the 640x480
showed even though I know from the manual and from testing via VGA calble
that it is capable of 19xxX10xx 1920x1080 resolution sooo I simply unchecked
that box in your adapter/monitor properties that says "hide unsupported
modes" and then chose the one I liked and it worked...."
