It is worth the money. I paid about a grand for it from BB last year in November. BTW, games are amazingly nice on this set.

Do you use it as your main tv or as your computer monitor?

I'd be interested in seeing pics of it on a tv table or enclosure to get a sense of the size and how it would look for a stand-alone tv.

Thanks.

If this drops to $629 again - I'll probably order.

cpals, if you have a Walmart or Target (or Best Buy, etc.) nearby, they will have similarly sized 32" LCD's set up.

I read about 15 pages of the avs review and I was pretty impressed. However I would encourage people to read the entire thing as there are some negative posts on the lcd tv. I also learned that there is a 32w6 out now that has replaced the now discontinued 32w1 in this thread. There are a few improvements worth looking at, one of them being the HDMI port. The w6 sells for 800 at BB right now. Thanks to the OP though, cause in two weeks Im gonna own a Westy 32 for sure.

The rebate expired 8/31. Check out at the 32" Hyundai at Newegg for $749 AR shipped. It includes an ATSC tuner, both over-the-air and QAM cable.

Prices are plummeting, and I expect that even through this Labor Day weekend there will be more deals.

I'd be interested in knowing if that 10% off BB coupon will work with the Westy that's already on sale. If anyone tries it, post right away! :)

I just bought that set on Monday and price-matched it with the 10% off yesterday. $720 + tax for a great tv!

Just picked it up at BB as well...

Wowza, the 10% coupon wasn't working right ... so the mgr scanned the 12% one and gave me that instead :)

Hotness...

I looked at the Hyundai and it is very similar to the Westy 32w1. The Hyundai has ATSC and QAM putting it over the 32w1 in options. Im not sure bout the Faroudja processing deal (Im just starting to learn these things). Also the reviews seem to mention some high pitch noise coming from the Hyun monitor. Dont know if thats a widescale issue though.
The 32w6 that I mentioned earlier now has the HDMI-HDCP as well as the ATSC and QAM.

Normally, I am all for buying everything over the net, but this is one of those purchases that I would rather get from a store where I can talk to someone if problems arise. If you guys can swing it, I would try using that BB coupon and getting the 32w6 for $719 as others have successfully done. I would do it right now, but I gotta wait til I get paid haha. Maybe prices will drop even lower if Im lucky ;)

i purchased the 32w6 at best buy tonight using the 12% off coupon. no hassles, though i had to hunt to find someone to help me.

$799.99 -12%(reward zone coupon) +8.5%(sales tax) +$8.00(ca recycle fee) = $771.83

i wasn't a reward zone member-- signing up costs $9.99 (+8.5% tax for me) but saves an extra 2% (10% without rz or bb credit card, 12% with). in this case 2% is $16.00, so it more than pays for the membership. you also get rz points that can be redeemed for gift certificates. as best i can tell, you get 3% back on qualifying purchases (excluding tax, fees, etc.), which in this case would be $21.12.

so assuming my math is correct, my final price is:

$771.83 +$10.84 -$21.12 =$761.55

the newegg deal would have been about $800 after tax/shipping/rebate, so i think bb is a much better deal.

btw, i'm using this in my living room on an htpc. i set it up tonight and it looks phenomenal!

thanks for the great deal!

Nice thread crap. Last I checked I a) dont hav a 32' wall let alone a 10ft continuous wall. b) I like to watch TV sometimes with the light on, or the sun up. c) I dont want the TV to be the centerpiece of the room. My friends and family should be.

Awesome. I am really tempted to do this. I think you forgot to mention the reward certificates you get out of it too. I am really tempted to head in and check it out.

Edit: Done. They had a $50 discount since I agreed to sign up for the Comcast HDTV upgrade.

actually i did forget to mention that i used my american express, so i'll get another 1% cash back and double the manufacturer warranty to two years.

anyone have any thoughts about the best buy 4-year extended warranty? i usually like to purchase electronics at costco due to their return policy, but bb had a better deal on this. for $129 is it worth it for the extended warrantly from bb?

Picked up the 32w6 today at Bestbuy. Just waiting until the cable provider opens up next week so I can swap out my non-HD box for a HD. I don't know if I should add the 4 year extended warranty for $130.
