Please share your experiences as far as the noise levels are concerned.

I have yet to find a forum where someone has one and has shared their thoughts on this drive yet. The only subjective info at Tom's Hardware makes me want to buy one immediately, if I do, I will be sure to post back with my thoughts.

Thanks to anyone who can contribute something.

The only review I have seen so far was from Toms' Hardware and they says it is about as quite and most of the seagates. But then again, they never did any accoustic tests.

here is there direct quote
The WD3200JB was almost inaudible during operation, and only made itself heard under very heavy loads. However, the sound level can be reduced even further by switching to a less aggressive access mode

hasn't anyone bought this yet? I can't believe it. People are buying Maxtor DM10's like mad but yet have shunned thy brother Western Digital, that stalwart bastion of glory in the hard drive world. How can this be happening?

i would take Seagate, WD over Maxtor, in that order. and i will never again buy IBM. EVER.
