is this worth the $135 over an existing Toshiba XG4 (take off of a dell laptop from 2018)

According to Toshiba documentation, the drive is capable of 1500 Sequential read and 980 sequential write.

The WD Black drive is over twice as fast and twice as big as your Toshiba. In real world usage though, you probably wouldn't notice a difference.
