Western Digital RMA Question...

Alright, I sent in this hard drive:

WMA9F1043285 WD600BB-00CFC0

Western Digital finally got around to seeing that it was bad, so they're sending out this one:

WMA9F1024600 WD600BB-00CFC0

I'm guessing I got a referbished drive by the serial #'s 🙁 Anyone else think this too, or am I worrying about something I shouldn't be...

Also, THEY SHIP WITH UPS? WTF is that? lol, no wonder they have so many RMA's now 😛

I delt with the same situation when my WD drive crapped out after about 1 month. They sent me back a refurb because technically, I was sending them a used one and not a new drive.

Also, I believe you still get the 3 year warranty with the refurb drive... or the warranty still continues from the purchase date of your original drive.

I think you do get 3 year warranty on the referb drive too, or the drive you get back...

This is the second time I've had to bother doing this :|

Anyways, the one I got back the first time (a 40 gig gone bad) actually worked better than the original drive... hopefully it's the same here.

When I had the same problem as you, people here assured me that the new drive might even be better becaues they would've send it through a lot more tests to make sure the drive won't fail again. Good luck!
